Come join the team that is making life better for dogs and their owners everywhere.

The DogsThat team is a diverse, fast moving, and passionate group who is looking for a Digital Marketing & Content Creation Specialist to join the team.

Hours are Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm ET. (may include occasional hours outside that work week)

We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our team alongside our entrepreneur Susan Garrett and be a part of our vision to improve the lives of dogs and dog owners by helping them understand each other better.

We’re a heart driven company, and believe that our community and student’s experience and success is one of the main contributing factors to our future success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive social media digital marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and drive growth.
  • Social Media Management: Overseeing all social media accounts and ensuring consistent posting schedules.
  • Content Creation: Developing creative and engaging content, including graphics, reels, and videos across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Linkedin, Pinterest, Threads, YouTube)
  • Content Marketing: Plan, create, and distribute valuable, relevant, and consistent social media content to attract and engage a clearly defined audience. Optimize content for SEO and lead generation.
  • Graphic Design: Creating graphics for eBooks, posters, ads, and other digital/print materials.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensuring all content aligns with DogsThat/Shaped By Dog branding.
  • Community Engagement: Interacting with followers, responding to comments, and fostering a sense of community.
  • Strategy Development: Implementing social media strategies to increase brand visibility and engagement. Following up on social media trends, algorithms and always looking for opportunities for DogsThat growth.
  • Analytics: Monitoring social media metrics to track performance and adjust strategies accordingly. Understand UTM creation, GA4 reporting.
  • SEO Knowledge: Understanding of SEO principles to optimize social media profiles and content for better visibility.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

  • Remote Work Experience: Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Attention to Detail: have a keen eye for detail and are passionate about serving both a team and a very large dog-loving community
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, including the current Social Media Coordinator.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Canva. AI tools for copy and reel creation. Familiarity with GSuite, Slack, ManyChat and Adobe Creative Suite also an asset.
  • Communication: Excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills for creating compelling posts and engaging with the audience.
  • Adaptability: Flexible with working with a small team and understanding there is a lot of cross-functional task sharing. Able to take on a multitude of varying tasks.
  • Affinity for Reinforcement-Based Dog Training: An affinity for reinforcement-based animal training and ideally familiarity with Susan Garrett’s methods.

What we look for in a team member:

  • Agile, humble, trustworthy, and a team player.
  • Flexibility for taking on tasks that fit outside of the traditional Digital Marketing & Content Creation Specialist roles
  • Be self-motivated and take initiative.
  • Willingness and desire to learn.
  • Are able to work in East Coast Timezones
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English.

This job is probably not for you if...

  • You get easily distracted and need to be closely managed on a daily basis.
  • You do not have good time management skills or ability to be organized.
  • You are fazed by shifting priorities.
  • You don’t enjoy trying new things in technology or trying new tactics to improve efficiency.
  • You do not have experience working from home, in a virtual team, or in an agile development environment.
  • You do not have attention to detail or a high level of follow through.
  • You do not like dogs or communicating with people from all over the world!

Note: There will be times where it’s all hands on deck for planned activities, and times when we meet outside our own time zone. Flexibility is a must as this position may need a level of responsiveness outside of the normal work week and standard work hours during three to four events a year.
